What does CATS provide?

CATS provides telephone lifelines for people living in their own homes in the form of telephone alarm units and neck or wrist pendants. We have been promoting independence, security and peace of mind for our clients and their families and friends since 1992.

The lifelines provide a two-way speech link at the touch of a button 24 hours a day all the year round with Oxford City Council Control Centre.

Control Centre staff will know, before even talking to you, who you are, your doctor and medical conditions if any, and contact details of friends and family who may provide help if necessary.

In the event of serious emergencies the Control Centre staff will summon either doctor, ambulance, fire or police services depending upon the circumstances.

CATS is responsible for the supply, installation, initial programming and testing of the telephone alarm unit and, in the unlikely event of a unit failure, undertakes to replace it at the earliest opportunity.
